Mayor Rowswell declares May 27 Ontario Walks Day

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON, May 11 - His Worship Mayor John Rowswell will proclaim Sunday, May 27th as Ontario Walks Day in Sault Ste. Marie.
Accepting the proclamation will be Mr. Tom Fiore, president of Momentum 1 - Community In Motion & founder of Ontario Walks; as well as Dr. Janice Willet, president of the Ontario Medical Association, a key partner.
Sault Ste. Marie is one of the five cities (London, Windsor, Toronto, & Ottawa) participating in the Ontario Walks program, a new province-wide health initiative that encourages Ontarians to be self-reliant on their personal amd environmental wellness.
The official Ontario Walks Sault Ste. Marie event will take place Sunday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
The walk will begin at Roberta Bondar Pavilion and proceed onto the St. Mary's River boardwalk.
The honourary walk leaders for this event are: Mayor John Rowswell and MPP, David Orazietti.
